Default arp main stud problems HELP!

so i got arp studs for my ls1. i drop the block off at the machine shop to be taken to 3.905. gave him my mains and studs so he could mount it to the boring machine. he calls me the next day and asks me to bring down my old bolts. so i take them down. the arps are sooo loose when you thread them into the block. he was afraid to pull the threads out when he tightened them up. so i double checked the part number, correct. double check with another block, same story. miced the old bolts and new studs. the old ones were stretched obviously. but were bigger. called arp and talked to a guy who was a complete idiot. told me that once the stud bottoms out in the hole it wont be loose side to side. WELL THAT DOESNT MEAN THE THREADS WONT PULL RIGHT OUT!!!! so what i wanna know is 1. if any of you guys had any problems with this before. 2. what should i do? the bolts are new and are the correct part number. ive checked multiple places, and ordered these from summit.

Mine were not very loose but easily turned in all the way by hand, I bottomed mine out, and torqued them multiple times like arp recommends. I have my short block assembled no problems, If it rocks a ton side to side, then I would be weary....

arp states to hand tighten them or tighten them to 2 lbs. just doesnt seem right to me. they seem like they would pull right out. especially at 50-60 ft lbs

you saying you could easily turn urs in all the way worries me, mine are so loose i dont see how you couldnt turn them in. maybe if i set one up w a dial indicator and see how much side to side movement i got with it threaded all the way in and backed off 2 turns? then try and compare?

Check the thread pitch, you may have got the wrong set. Should be metric, (maybe 11mm?) vs standard Chevy 7/16"...

studs screw in fine, they are 10 mm i believe. i tried a 7/16 standard but its too big. motor should be done today and i dont wanna risk this. being in aluminum i would think they would be nicer fit.
