Wow guys there is so much mis-information in this thread...

FWIW, the coilpacks and brackets are completely interchangeable from side to side. This is true from '97 to present. The harnesses are actually numbered for both sides...

As long as the cam and crank sprockets are dot to dot at final assembly, you are good.

A simple cranking compression test will most likely tell the tale with the least amount of effort.

I may have missed a few points but I hope this helps clear up at least a few things.

Where there a will-There's a way. But I would like to have seen that. Seen people install rotor blades upside down.

i know on my fox body i had i had to put the belt on the alternator then pry with a tire iron to move the alternator in place to put the bolt in ,and the pliers well he probaly didnt have a wrench and in most cases you need something like a tire iron to pry the belt tensioner to put the belt on

That's when you get a Belt about 2" longer..

LOL..Ya I use my 3/8 Ratchet and a 13mm Socket on the Tensioner Pulley Bolt..that would be one of the CORRECT tools for the LS Engine.

At this point are you still wonderin why I don't use a Tire Iron to move the Tensioner?

correct tool? a 3/8 ratchet to pry with thats pretty dumb if you ask me ,why would you possibly bend your ratchet instead of using something that it wouldnt matter if bent it or not

like i said some people dont need wrenches ,like some people dont need guns, they might shoot their foot off or they might install a cam wrong or use a 3/8 ratchet to pry with, im sorry anyway if your talking about the bolt on the tensioner its not a 13mm i believe its a 15mm ,dont wanna **** nobody off but you say correct tool thats just funny to me

Just because they might shoot their foot off does not mean they do not need guns! Guns and feet have nothing to do with each other or with this forum or this thread. If you want to talk politics go to a different forum. This is not the place for politics.

Obviously you aren't familiar with the LS1.

Let me educate you..

With a little muscle it moves very easily with a 3/8 Ratchet..WITHOUT bending it.

And I'm pretty sure it's a 13mm..I would check but it's 7,000 miles away at the moment..anyone want to help out?
