Default Help with engine build!!! :)

Need something cleared up, im getting mixed signals from a couple of different people. I bought a block from someone on here, and it was supposed to be clean honed to 3.907. I have been doing some research adn it seems like thats way too much? Im also having an issue finding pistons to fit. Some are 3.908 but i dont think i want to get any more out of it. So give me your opinions please! Thanks!

Here's the thread with engine pics! First pic is the block! Thanks!

Mahle makes a few pistons for larger over bores than normal and so can Diamond for a small charge extra as we do them all the time. Generally a shop hones the block FOR a set of pistons not just to whatever they want though? Do you KNOW exactly what the bores are at and if so PM me as we can get you a piston to fit but the selection drops a LOT when you are outside of a standard bore size.

When the block gets here ill get an exact measurment. I it still safe to run if it us a 3.907 bore? Yeah I know they usually hone to the pistons, but i got the block for a good price, so I figured I would make something work. I'm just getting used to this aluminum block stuff. Thanks for thr help!

The visible scoring in several of the visible bores would cause me to pass on that block, and the hone crosshatch pattern looks like somebody had a party w/ a cheap 3-stone rig with their electric drill.

Good luck making it run well.

+ 1 on what crainholio said as the cylinder bores do not look like a professional job.

Good luck dude, usually a great deal on a block ends up costing more in machine work.
