Default lq4 6.0 build or swap with a large cam

I have a few questions so I know what I need to start ordering before this swap.

I have a 2000 Lq4 complete motor bottom end has been freshened up with ARP bolts.....

I also have my LS1 which needs the bottom end refreshened it runs but has no oil pressure due to bearings.

I am planning on taking my 24x/24x cam , and my ported heads and move them to the 6.0.

I have hardened 7.4 pushrods, im sure the heads will be fine. Not sure if I need to swap the push rods or anything else before we tear in next week. From what I have read, the alternator bolt tap is the only thing that will change. If anyone else has done sucha swap please let me know what I might run into.

The CAM is great on HP up top and hopefully the extra cubes will give me a little more torque down low which I could use. I had a choice between rebuilding my 5.7 or going with the heavier 6.0.

42lb injectors, 3"ory, 3" cutout, ASP pulley, Fast 90/90, S2 heads, big cam, racetronix.... well you see the sig so I think its all there. Man I hope I dont get slower from doing this.

Any guesses where my HP would be. I am hoping/needing 450RWHP with the extra weight up front.

I'd guess you'll gain around 20tq/hp acrossed the rpm range with the lq4.
I pulled my heads and 238/242 cam out of my ls1 and put them in my 408 and with the extra cubes the setup is A LOT more street friendly

To you, keep in mind your pistons are dished .011. So you'll lose some compression thats why I was asking about your heads. Also the 4L80E is a direct bolt up to the LQ4, thats why I was asking A4 or M6. Do you have 317's on the LQ4? If so, they have 64cc combustion chambers and can be milled .025 -.030 to bump up the compression and still maintain a larger combustion chamber.

I am using my LS1 heads I have 317s on the motor now but they come off my stage 2 ls1 heads will go on this block to raise my compression some. Hoping I dont have a problem with clearance because of the cam size. Other than the ARP bolts its basically a stock block getting a 24x/24x .610 cam installed with LS1 heads.

i just did the swap from an LS1 to a LQ4, and my set up is VERY similar to yours. i only have 600 miles on my new motor, and no dyno number yet. the car does feel like it has more torque but it also does feel a little heavier and does seem to sit a little lower.

The LQ4 adds some wieght up front for sure, but the extra cubes help more than the weight hurts. Plus you have the extra strength of the iron block.
