X1 cam or 1X cam??
Had this cam laying around for some time and noticed on the end it had X1 stamped on it....no other markings. Been running a tr224 114lsa for some time but have been thinking about upgrading to something a little bigger. So I got pretty excited and installed this cam over the weekend. Car started right up but did not hear the big cam lope that goes with a cam this size. Anyway take the car out to see how it feels.....down low feels about the same the tr224, but up top above 4500rpm, just didn't seem to pull much better than stock cammed car. This is all s.o.p, but it makes me wonder if the stamping is incorrect? Mostly curious as I will probably swap back the tr224 this week and go back to what I know. Might even look to find a tr230 instead. Anyone have any ideas what cam this might be??

Just from looking at a cam you would never know what degree of advance is ground into it or if it is gonna be a valve bending machine. You could always spend the 25$+shipping and get it cam doctored and find out for sure what it is from a few sponsors here. Thunder I believe can do that for you.

Stock 98 camaro/firebird camshaft part number: 12557812 specs: 198/209dur .500/.500lift-119.5LSA. You swapped your TR224 for a stock 98 cam and are surprised that it lost top end and doesn't lope? I've got about 10 stock cams laying around my shop if you need some more cam swap practice.
