When will the LS2 block be available?
I was wondering if anyone had any inside information on when the LS2 block would be available for sale from dealers and GM wholesale outlets?

I think this will be very difficult to predict. I would guess it won't be available until the engine is in full production and the C6 isn't scheduled to start production until early 3rd quarter... Any insiders??

What can one expect to pay on the average would you say for a C6 vert. I have a friend very interested and my guess would be around 56 to 57K or so fully loaded. Also, as often done, will the dealers in your opinion be seeking to get 5K or so over list price for a new C6 vert in typical bullshit greedy fashion?

Why not go with an LS6 block?

Usually GM will make new parts available right before the car/truck is released for delivery to the dealers. It would seem most of the parts for the LS2 will interchange with the LS1 including heads (but I'm guessing GM changed the head bolt pattern) and intake. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Hopefully the heads and blocks will all be interchangeable with only some problems with the intake and exhaust fitments. Either way I'll be waiting till the engine for the C6 ZO6 comes out with even more displacement and the 3 valve heads. The 3 valve heads are going to make rediculous amounts of power once they hit the aftermarket. Heads and cam packages will be unreal

the head bolt pattern appears to be the same from the pics i've seen. as soon as i get a parts catalog update w/ the LS1 intakes, heads/blocks, i'm ordering them and taking pics and an intake for my car the heads will most likley be revised LS6

I dont think yall have notist that the motor in the pic is a truck motor.
I would love to know how any one would know how the heads are design if the motor is not even out yet.

The best workup I've seen on the LS2 is over at the corvette action center....
You guys see that the block will have iron sleeves cast in place, with a 3.62 stroke??
Why not just sleeve an LS1 Block... Won't the LS2 block be about 3K when it comes out anyway???? Hmmmmm

In the latest R&T or Motortrend, I don't remember which one, they said the ZO6 will be out a year after the C6 and it will have a 6.3 that makes around 500hp. It's the same block but will have a longer stroke.
