Default Head bolt problem.. got a quick question

I am putting my heads back on and one of the bottom bolts is really hard to crank down. I had 130 ft/lbs on the torque wrench and it still keep clicking, so then i went to a break over and it started clicking the bolt as well. all the others seem to snug up fine?? i have swapped a set before and i had one do kinda the same thing.. but it was due to some fluid in the blocks bolt hole. this is a new short block and there are no liquids or anything else for that matter in the hole. any idea's?? i'm gonna back out the other bolts and try to get this one seated first before torqueing them down to spec.

any comments welcomed.

thanks
Devin.

I assume you torqued down the head bolts in the proper sequence? And torqued them down in steps?

If so, maybe you should try using a tap on that bolt hole, there may be some debris in there? Good luck though.

Oh yeah, another idea is to use some sort of assembly lube, like moly lube, they worked wonders for me on really tight bolts. A few applications and it started to go in smooth.

Wow! At least your wife is showing some interest. The only thing my wife says when I work on the the car is that I'm getting filthy and smelly . I don't think I could ever get her to turn a wrench.

i blew my last motor and totally re-built a short block and sold my old heads (1 was damaged). So my car will be slow again for a bit, but at least it will be up and running. I can't handle driving my beater everyday. i told the wife i appreciate her trying to help.. but she will never use a torque wrench in my garage again
