Default 236/242 .580/.590 on a 112 lsa cam + Stock 317 Heads?

Hey, im looking for input on this cam for my set up. I have a LQ4 that I'll be putting in my 84 Monte Carlo. Motor will be stock other than cam and maybe milling the heads if possible. Car has Posi with 373s, and I'll be using a TH350 with a 3000-3500 stall. Car will be mostly a weekend driver but I more than likely will take it out for a spin once or twice throughout the week. Is this too much cam? What type of power should I expect from this cam only set up? Any input is appreciated...

you will need to mill the heads to bump up the static compression.that big of cam will lower your dynamic compression.get some pac 1218 springs or 1518.need good push rods also.big cam like that is alittle harder to tune, what size injectors?

the cam sounds perfect for your app should make good power with the right intake mani, headers and bolt ons. i would put it in as is and run it and i think you'll be happy with the end result!

Thanks for the input... Im really just looking for a throw in cam that I can do a simple tune and ride out...Money isn't allowing me to do ported heads and fast intakes like I would like to so Ill stay in my lane and pass up on the deal for this cam...

you can get a mail order tune for $125.consider a smaller cam that will work with your compression.consider a 224 cam kit from TSP ,$590.check out their webstore.will you be install headers?

i am running a cam a little bigger than that with no issues but it does have a dyno tune, the mail order was really lean and idled poorly. If you go that size it may need more than a mail order to achieve good driveability. i am on an Ls6 intake, long tubes, TDs, and made 400rwhp, and almost 370rwtq fwiw

Yeah I plan on running headers...black6spdz where does the power come in best with this cam and what tranny/stall are you running?
