I used the ARPs and its been fine. Lots say go with the Katech bc of their "no machine work needed" clause.

Man you might fire up a big arguement asking this lol. Try a search and you'll see what I'm talkin about.

To offer my opinion, Either are good from what I've read. I personally run the arp's and haven't had any complaints. Just follow the torque instructions on whichever you get.

I personally think ARP says "machine or use at your own risk" bc they are a huge company and are at major risk for lawsuits. I dont think they are any disadvantage to the Katech's IMO I think both are an improvement over stock and if you can install one without machining, well.....however, there is always that dumbass that ruins it for everyone by trying to sue somebody.

If I am reading this right your engine is a 01 LS6.You do know that a 01 would have the upgraded(stronger)rod bolts in it?I am not saying the aftermarket ones aren't even better but just didn't think people had any problems with the newer factory bolts.

I would do katech's, thats what i am buying when i get the money, they are made buy the same manufacture that makes that stock bolts but are made out of a stronger material. So they are the same size and weight as stock but stronger.

unless your build is going to still make power at 6800+ RPM, I wouldnt even worry about it with a 01 motor. Most of the builds you look at in the Dyno section are pretty much done making power gains by 6400-6600.
