Default ms4 vs megadeath

tried searching and didnt find exactly what i was looking for. someone please help me out.

im nearing the end of my ls1 into sn95 mustang conversion and need to choose a cam....

car will be a weekend warrior and will dd <5mi each day

mods are 8.8" w/4.10's, 4k stall, ls6 intake, P/P TB, 1 3/4" LT's,full exhaust, 150 wet plate kit, 255 fp with hotwire......

my initial choice was the ms4 from TSP.
but have been reading up on the megadeath. it seems to produce higher tq numbers.

I'm wanting to be able to run 11.30's on motor and a low-mid 10 on the juice....
car will hopefully weigh in at 3200-3300

i will be ordering the cam with valvetrain within the next few weeks and need your opinions please.

thanks

Do you mind fly cutting or have valve reliefs?

I'm guessing they are probably stock heads. 241, 853, or maybe a 243. Atleast you have the stall for either.

An MS4 should clear a stock head, but I am not sure how much room you feel comfortable with.

If you are running spray I don't think that the megadeath would be that best option due to the reverse split. I would go with a nitrous cam or a cam with a large exhaust duration and lift compared to the intake side.

You can spray a reverse cam with no problems. It just depends on how much you want to spray. I would look into a traditional split if it is anything over a 150 hit. Otherwise you will probably get near the same reaction. But, I would have to agree that the Megadeath cam is probably the best first choice.

The EPS 236/248 is a better choice. It will make more low and mid range as well. I'm not 100% sure if it will fit, but the 234/246 111+3 will fit, and that cam will walk the MS4 or Megadeath or T-Rex, or whatever. The first one has been refered to as a "T-Rex killer."

While that cam may be on better lobes.. no cam walks another. A better combo walks a weaker one.

I get what your saying but especially with ls cars people make think big cam means fast et. Everything needs to match.

Just trying to make sure everything is in perspective

Megadeath sucks ***** IMHO. I know 3 people that has had it in their GTO, Trans-AM and C6 and all were disappointed. I'd go with the MS4. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
