Exclamation Cam swap with Double Valve Spring ?

I have heard after installing a new cam with double valve springs, you need to take out the inner spring to help "break in" the cam. Can anyone verify this. It says it on the instructions that came with the cam too which made me want to ask. I have helped a couple friends and never done this and their cars seemfine. Just trying to get this rectified.

Hmmmm. Hope not, cause I never did and no problems yet. That's a weird one.

That is for a flat tappet setup, not a roller. The removal of the spring reduces the loads on the contacting surfaces during break-in. Not necessary. I would recommend the Redline Assembly Lube on all the lobes though rather then oil, it will stay in place much longer.

Leave both springs intact. That's OLD SCHOOL stuff.

I would, put some zddp additive in the first oil change just because... but even that probably isn't really needed.
