Default 232-236 XE-R 112 LS in a 393 all bore?

I decided to start out using the cam that I previously ran in the stock block, the 232-236. This will be in a 393 ARE All Bore motor.

Anyone have thoughts on how this will act? I'm sure it will be a bit more mild mannered, with the bigger cubes. That's why I want to start with that, and see how it acts. What's your guess on RWHP & TQ? I assume you could compare cams used in a 382 All Bore, as a comparison. Shouldn't be much difference between 10 extra cubes?

Then I get to figure out what to go to for an all out cam. The pistons have big enough reliefs in them, for me to go huge on the cam. Fire away.

It should idle pretty well and run pretty good I'd imagine.

What RWHP and Torque did you make with the 346?

Terry, I never got a chance to dyno with the convertor locked up, so the TQ # are high.

388/441 HP/TQ. In street trim.

I'd guess that you'll be within 3% of what a big cam would produce and enjoy better drivability. Should give a nice fat torque curve.

I am thinking of getting the same cam (MTI R1) in my 382 stroker! I hope it idle well. In a 393 CI I will do nothing smaller than that!

I have the MTI X1 (230/227) and it idles almost like stock with my LT's and stuff. But, it drives like a stock car will do! Until you floor it! I want more power, so the 232/236 sounds very nice!

Thanks for the replies. I dont expect to put down any enormous #'s, because the motor is being built for nitrous. I estimate in the 440-450 range, which should be good enough for a 10. on motor.

It should be a fine ride with a 300 shot <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
