low oil pressure after stroker start up solved!
just got off the phone with my tuner. and there is low oil pressure. its around 5-10psi at idle. i think it is either these 3 problems what do you guys think.
1) there is not enough clearance between the pickup tube and bottom of the pan
2) pinched o ring
3)bad oil pump
my oil pump is a texas speed ported ls6. it has 1000 miles on it but it was on my previous motor that was blown. still unsure of that motor problem. what do you guys think could be the problem?

With aftermarket double chain sets that use shims/spacers for the oil pump, often you have to bend the pick-up tube slightly to get it to line up into the pump properly....also you have to shim the windage tray away from the crank to clear the aftermarket crank and rods. Then you have to adjust the pick-up to pan clearance if it was altered.
OP: What were your bearing clearances?

I recently installed a 402 with a TSP ported oil pump and shimmed the windage tray down with 3 washers. I did not adjust the pickup at all. I did some searching but from what I had found it sounded like I did not need to make any changes to the pickup tube. I have 50+ psi at cold idle and ~25 psi at hot idle with 10w30. It seems if I had a problem with the pickup tube I would see it at cold temps as well.

first im going to try and get some 10w-30 and jack the rear of the car up and hook up a mechanical gauge and see what happends. if that dosent work im going to get a new oil pump and o ring. maybe my old motor caused the oil pump to get messed up. after that i have no idea what it could be. any of you guys have any other suggestions?

I would put money on thicker oil. I was recommended 15-50 from my engine builder due to the clearances. I run 20-50 and at hot idle, I see around 35#. I run with the Melling 10296, 18% flow increase over the 10295, which is required if you want higher oil pressure with an engine that has larger clearances.
When I first started my 408 up, I would get down to around 20# @ hot idle with a ported LS6, but this was due to the wrong o-ring being installed.
Do you have the stock k-member or aftermarket? I have BMR's tubular turbo k member and I was able to remove the oil pan without dropping the k-member. I did have to unbolt the engine mounts and jack the engine up quite a bit.
You need to find out your clearances and then put the proper oil in with those clearances and weather conditions.
