I respect and acknowledge all cars that have true potential. Everyone looks down on civics, and have nothing but rice this rice that to say. But on the contrary, there are well more than "just a couple" local civics that can hang with some of us here making 400+ to the wheels. Honda B Series and K series are serious and have ridiculous potential irreguardless of what people here say. I think the OP is a asshat, but that doesnt negate the fact the Honda can produce a 2.0(K20) liter that can produce 300+ to the wheels with under 15lbs on a stock longblock. Power per liter and power to weight ratio is obviously overlooked here at Tech.
Let me return to lurkin around at ifyoudonthaveanlsxthenfuckyou.com.

i can tell you this.. i had a 95 talon tsi fwd 4g63 7bolt and after some head work and hks cams which were done by previous owner, i gave it injectors and a Hahn 20g, FMIC and a tune. it put down 447fwhp and 365tq on 28psi if i remember right... (been about 4 years ago) ...when the car ran it RAN.. but i just couldnt get any reliability out of it... either this broke or that bent or whatever... nothing really major but it was enough to make me think twice about really letting it go WFO for more than a few seconds... not to mention having to waaaaiiit for boost... but i was putting down more than 200hp p/liter... i got rid of it and went to the 4th gen TA... this is my 5th one i think, but first LS1... just my .02

Theres no doubt that small displacement motors have made their way up from years ago, but I'd rather have my LS2 over any K20, B16, B18, B20 VTEC, 4g63(isnt that the evo motor?), SR20 even an RB24. The only motor Id rather build than the one I already have, is a 2j.

H/C/I 402 stroker > 4G63 on any amount of boost anyday IMHO. H/C sounds WAAAAAAAAY better then spooling, again IMHO.

Those ratios typically get overlooked because they typically lead to nowhere. Why spend $10,000 on an engine like the K20/24 and a turbo setup that only makes 300whp? You know what 15psi through your LS2 would make?

I don't have anything against the import stuff, but let's be realistic. The import stuff is 2-300ci smaller. That's a serious disadvantage.

Dont own an import, but there are a few local supras and civics that would wax my ***. Id love to own a MKIV or an STI. Even a 3rd gen RX7, but it would probably be an LSX swap tho.

300whp in a 2500lb EG hatch comparing to or, in my case a bolt on LS2 making 370whp in a 3800lb GTO. What do you think will happen? I am most certainly not a Honda fanboy nor am I being biased againt anything/anyone, Im just speakin truth. I mean look at what car I drive. I have my car for a reason, and I love my car. I dont hate my car, or love Hondas, but gotta give credit where credit is due. Honda has a TWO liter that is capable of keeping up with GM's SIX liter. And 15 lbs for my car would run me around $6000, anyways.
My GTO ran my 16,000 before tax. Go on Autotrader/craigslist and you will see that the K20 civic SI 05-09, I believe IIRC, are running between 11 and 13 thousand in good condition. Spend the difference between the two cars price for boost for the Honda, and what do you have?
