In The market For some Heads Im in the market for some heads!
Currently im looking at these heads
My question is which heads flow better?
I know the trick-flows are pretty good
But i have not seen any info on the 3.0 Ls6 heads
Also i was thinking of the torquer v.3 cam from TSP
What stall should i go for? (3,200?)
And gears? (3.73)?

- Trickflow 215 Heads

the 2.5 ls6 heads have been shown to make some good power and trick flows are good as well. The stage 3 ls6 heads might be to much for stock 346. If you talk to the guys at texas speed im sure they will point you in the right direction.

the 2.5 ls6 heads have been shown to make some good power and trick flows are good as well. The stage 3 ls6 heads might be to much for stock 346. If you talk to the guys at texas speed im sure they will point you in the right direction.

Flow numbers don’t mean much if the runners are too big; the key in head flow and design is air speed/ velocity.
The PRC LS6 stage 2.5 heads do make good power and are great heads for the money. But those heads are nowhere near a Trick Flow 215, hints why TFS's are about $800 more. The Trick Flow 215 port design is far superior over an LS6. This is why the Trick Flow’s flow more CFM with a smaller CC runner which creates more air speed/ velocity.
If you’re looking to spend over $2000 for a set of heads, compare TFS 215, AFR 205/215 and PRC 215.
If you’re looking to spend around $1600, look at the TFS as cast 220, PRC LS6- 5.3L and TEA LS6- 5.3L

Maybe you can give me some advice on which cam to go with?
i was thinking of the torquer v.3 from Texas speed.
Would a 3200 stall and 3.72 gears be right for that cam and heads?

If it were me, get the best heads you can afford and then spec out a custom ground cam to work with are set up and you goals, then do the same with a torque converter. Once the heads and cam is chosen then hit up some one list Circle D and have them spec out a stall the works with your combo and goals. This will set you apart from most all other cars that were just thrown to gather. Good luck on the build and if you have any question you can always PM me.

A lot of people run that cam with great success and a good set of heads will only make more power. You never really want to design a combo around a cam, but the other way around. It is always best to start out a build with the best set of heads you can afford and then build from there. I believe in custom ground cams, plus the cost about the same as an off the shelf cams. It all depends what your looking to do the car and what your goals are, if you don’t know what are goals are for the car you will just end up with a mixed match combo the does work well. A 3200 stall is great for a street car. Mine is a 241 headed street car with a custom ground cam that was ground with my goals set in mind. I run a 3200 stall and the cam specs out at 228/230 .598/.600 112LSA. It works with bee hive valve springs because I wanted quiet valve train noise and a cam that was easy on the valve train. When I get my set of heads I will get a new custom ground cam that is design around those heads and with my goal set in mind.

the tsp stage 3 heads are for 4" bore.whats your budget?if money is tight look at a ls6 stage 1 head/cam kit from TSP.if you have money burning a hole on your pocket look at a trick flow head/cam kit from vengeance racing.
Also TEA sells ported LS6 heads. Their stage 2 heads are $1800 complete with springs good to .675. I know flow doesn't mean everything but TEA has the LS6 pegged on exhaust flow. They seem to get more than anyone else out of the 243 castings. Their intake flows are similar to TSP and Patriot though. Also the Patriot heads are a good bang for your buck head considering they don't charge more for different portings so you could go mild to wild for the same price $1250. My cousin has a set on his 6.0 Z28 and they hold their own with his TEA ported TFS225 heads for sure.

Thats a good combo, for the price of those heads you have room to play.
I like that F13 cam, close to mine.... no need for a donky dick cam to build a good street car.
Look at the PRC 227 & 215 heads. They're on special for $2200 & will do very well for you. They don't require aftermarket rockers like the TFS, and if you buy them without springs & move your springs over you'll have less than $2,000 in them!!

First of all you are talking out of your ***. The difference in price is bc A. its an aftermarket NOT a stock head and B. its a name brand like any other. Sorry buddy but you don't need to make out like trickflows are untouchable. They can do great things with an old POS stock head like a 243 And factor in the $400 rockers you HAVE to run with the trick flows and your little dog and pony show went out the window.
