im looking to get 400-450 to the ground out of my bone stock 2002 ss m6
but what is the best/easy/cheapest way to do this?
#1 i have been looking into gettin a sts kit
there site says at 5psi stock cars put down 405hp
i found a few used kits for around $2000 give or take a $200
plus what ever the fuel system cost...plus i love the sound of a turbo
and it would replace the exhaust so it will save me some $$$ there
#2 heads and cam package or just a cam
can i get into the 400hp range with just a cam??? and other mods, exhaust and such?
or will i need to get a head and cam combo along with full exhaust
i have not looked into pricing on this option
anything will help guys
this is my DD i wanna keep the ac and everything...
also i wanna stay away from nitrous i would like to have the power with out filling a bottle every time i wanna stomp on it...
also what kind of track times should i see?
thanks

There are so many variables and what you will have to put up with. I don't know too much about the STS system except the only ones that I have seen on a car really limited your ground clearance.
You can make 400 rwhp with a cam only and some headers but you'll probably have to swap your rear gears because the cam is going to be peaky with lots of lope not exactly what some people would like to drive on a commute to work. The H/C will get you there easily, again the cam you chose is going to determine the driveability.
Any of these mods is going to affect your fuel mileage, so I would think about this on a daily driver.

ok my buddy gave me some 4:10 gears, but i have not installed them. cuz i wan not sure if i want to go turbo or cam?
if lower 400hp can happen with just a cam and bolt ons ill probably go that way...
but will the cam still be streetable...not realy worried about mpg, i have a truck i can drive i just want it to be streetable when i do drive the car
what are some of the cams yall have seen that put out some good hp numbers and are streetable at the same time?

Just want to make sure Im on the right track here. An F-body LS1, cam only with supporting mods (LTs, exhaust, lid, tune) will make 400whp on stock 241 heads with an exception of PRs and springs?

Cam only with bolt-ons could get 400-425rwhp and only cost about $3000 with headers/exhaust/intake/ underdrive/tune/supporting mods.
Cam will have to be around 234-242 duration and .600 lift though.
