Default Morel Lifters?

Does anyone know the difference between the Morel "Street" link-bar lifters MOR-5290 and the "Hydraulic" link-bar lifters MOR100-HYD-L?

Thanks Chris, looks like there's quite a few people running the "street" version from the little research I've done but no answer to why?

The Street version has a cast body instead of being machined from alloy bar stock.

Thanks for the info. So my other question is, will the "street" version be ok for a 11.8:1-12:1 H/C/I setup that will be spun to 7000-7200 rpm or would I benefit from "hydraulic" version?

I play at high rpm and don't intend on pulling my heads very often, so I got the non-street Morels. Whether they are worth depends on the individual.

I would use the "hydraulic version" which is proven at those rpm levels.

The 5290 street version are a good choice when comparing to the OEM Caddy Stuff. Morel has modified these with there valving. The body is supplied by a very large OEM supplier. . .one that supplies GM. The Pro series is the part number 5206. these are machined from Tool steel and will take some serious punishment. I have had run as much at 245# on the seat and 600# open.

is there anything different about the way these are installed as far as set up? We are getting alot of coil bind with these lifters for some reason.

Coil bind in the body of the lifter or coil bind on the springs on the head?

All else equal they require shorter pushrods - different cup depth and smaller preload.
