Default Bad oil pump or something else?

02 Z28. Usually runs idle at 45 psi, now is more like 60psi and 80+ WOT. Was normally one day then BOOM outta no where just happened. More likely due to sitting for months not been driven due to being in military. With high psi now, it doesn't feel as quick. Feels like i lost 30 or so HP. RPM goes up and i just doesn't take off like it use to. PLEASE HELP... going home during x-mas and want to fix it.
Thank you

After setting, the pump may have stirred something up and got it stuck in the relief valve ?

Or, maybe your sending unit just took a dump ?

Try hooking up an external pressure gauge and see what that says.

Something might of gotten stuck or it froze was my guess, but what ponders me is the noticeable loss in acceleration. which i started thinking could be lifters or something in valvetrain not working/sealing to give me compression outta a cyclinder?
Anymore thoughts...?

Any suggestions about why I would feel a 30 hp loss ever since it started to happen though? Just doesn't make sense.

well higher oil psi will create more resistance in the motor but first of all idk that you would feel that big of a jump and second why it would gain a ton of oil psi. You don't have any rod knock or anything right. Did see one instance where a main bearing spun and blocked the oiling hole so that main got no oil and increased oil psi. Not to throw that catastrophe out there too soon but such things are possible. If any of the bearings spun for instance

Yeah if it lost power and the oil pressure is higher its a good chance something bad has happened. sorry but Good Luck
