Default Noob EPS Cammed LS1 buildup help

I'm interested in that EPS Cam for my LS1 that put out close to 400 rwhp on stock manifolds.

I'm not new to alot of the cam terminology, it's just that I never really understood what a lot of the numbers mean and how they can mismatch with a lot of other component's depending one someones ultimate goal for the car.

My goal is to have a cam that creates awesome useable power for my daily driver LS1, and at the same time maintain great gas mileage 18 city and 27 highway. The setup must also be reliable for light to light traffic.

Currently my car is an 02' m6, and has a lid, subframes, and a GMMG catback.
It has 92k miles on the odometer/engine.

I do not plan on getting headers, I live in California. And It is just insanely loud through the GMMG catback for daily driving 30-40 miles roundtrip on average.

I think that the EPS stealth cam should be a perfect fit.
Can you guys advise me on everything that I probably need/ should change out at 92k miles. And then as far as the budget for the labor/tune.

I do not have the time or know/how and I already have a shop in mind to do the work. But what should I expect for the labor to install everything as well as the tune????????

Sound help/advice is much appreciated here.

were in california are you? if your in northern cali like i am, i would suggest synergy motorsports in fremont. your looking at 1200 for the install if a shop does it. however, it only takes about 8 hours to swap a cam and springs. its in no way difficult to accomplish if you just take your time and read up on it first. check out ls1howto.com for details.

Be careful on the how too sites. Some of that info is nearly a decade old. A couple things have changed since then.

port your 241s and get the eps you'll be close. i have mine on a 215 intake lobe and with a 650rpm idle and you cannot hear a chop (different than the LS1 cam but more like the ls7) or feel any shaking. should be fine to fool the inspection guys but a 218 lobe may help you reach your hp goal...talk to the man

Everything you said except rockers unless you want to but don't need them. Plus retainers seals and clips for springs but should come as kit. And waterpump, timing cover gaskets and crank bolt. Should be all you really need and coolant

Add push-rods to that list.

IMO, I'd also change the lifters/L-trays with having 92k miles on them. So add head bolts and head gaskets, and have the shop at least do a mild port job on the heads since you'll have to remove them to change the lifters.

jthunder i would not buy anything for your swap except maybe your cam. your in the sac area right cuz i see u on norcal. alot of shops in our area will not use what u bought for the swap because the can not put mark up on it and will tell u that it is possible that what u bought is the wrong stuff purposely to get u to buy from them. thats how their businesses make a living. what u should do is post on norcal asking for some friendly help with a cam swap. im sure people will gladly help u. and in that case u should than buy everything yourself i.e. cam, spring kit, pushrods, head gaskets and bolts, lifters, ls2 timing chain, and a new oil pump, and a timing chain and oil pump gasket.

One thing I'd do first is spend $15 and get the Cartech book on how to build an LS1. Very detailed, to the point that you can judge for yourself if you can handle the cam swap or have it done at a shop.

http://www.cartechbooks.com/vstore/s...D=2277&CATID=3

Got mine for $15 on Amazon.
