Default Thoughts on a Cracked Oil Pan

I let a buddy drive my car and he ran over a large rock with my lowered 98 SS (I was with him, Yes I wanted to cry). Beyond that the deed is done and the oil pan in the center of the tank area behind the K member has been cracked. A section of it has been pushed up into the pan much like many other pics ive seen of it happening. My question is at this point whats my next move?

A: clean it up and epoxy it
B:Try to fix it myself Im an avid mechanic and not scared of dropping the K member I just do not want to do it since I just started a very hard semester at college.
C:Take it somewhere to be fixed. Im assuming it will be close to around $1000 out the door.

Thanks for the input guys and please give me more ideas.

hahaha yeah, well, I really hate it. He feels terrible about it, and I dont blame him. I just couldn't say stop in time. It got the thing the whole way back though. oil pan, tranny, tunnel brace and torque arm mount bolts......big rock

I'd just replace the whole thing unless its not a very big crack then just have it welded. No point in trusting epoxy on something as important as an oil pan.

the crack is about 3 or four inches long. the thing that concerns me is the scetion of pan that is pushed up into the pan. I want zero weak spots but I dont have the time to find a used one, or the 240$ for a new one. Im calling the university to put some heat on them though, It was due to construction that it was in the road.

You could just disconnect the battery instead of messing with the coil packs and relay

Like others have said, you don't want to mess around with a cracked oil pan. If you really can't pay for it then I would avoid driving the car for now. Althought at least these cars have low oil lights (or most of them I think) so that can be your failsafe in a way I guess...

oh btw the reason I opted for coil packs and relay was I didnt have any tools to take the battery loose. Thats just all I could do in the parking lot of my appt complex
