stroker pistons with stock stroke What rod length is it possible?
I was just wondering if anyone has tried this.
Say ls1 383 pistons for 4 inch stroke but using 3.622
Has this ever been done? What rod length would be needed and is there a formula to figure this stuff out?

what are you trying to do build a long rod motor? that just doesnt make sense. you need to decide what crank you wanna run.......then decide what piston, rod combo you want to run. different combos do different things but mismatching stuff is not going to come out right. one way or another your gonna come up long or short. the real truth in the matter is there isnt really a 383 or 346 or any displacement piston. theres the bore, ring grooves, wrist pin size, compression height, and where your rod locates in relation to the piston face determines the rod length

4 inch stroke
6.125 rod with 9.240 deck and 1.110 compression height
just wondering what length rod would make this work with stock stroke

well Ive always wanted to build a long rod SBC. I say go for it and post results. I cant honestly begin to trust my own math. I would contact a sponsor, probably texas speed and just ask them the same quesiton

my pistons are for 4 inch stroke 383 but I think I can get away with a 6.300 rod length and stock stroke. Pistons specs
Wiseco 3.903 bore, 4" stroke, 6.125 rod length and 1.110 compression height.
So, if if deck the block to 9.226 - 1.110 compression height and - 1.811 for the stock stroke.... that gives me a 6.305 rod length (.005 out of the cylinder)
Sounds good but with this give me any problems on the bottom of the cylinder hole?
