Well an Fbody M6 is a T56. An M6 is not a specific transmission.

 

There's only been one person on here that I can remember that made 400rw with bolt-ons and a tune. it's possible. Or else hes spraying.

 

They are all T56 Borg warner's. Just that a Z06 is a MN12 specific model of T56. With specific gearing.

I dont buy it, not for a second. There are a group of people who prefer to race, and then lie about what they have under the hood, its not the term sleeper, that refers to an element of surprise. I am talking about the folks who flat out LIE. If you ever watched the original PINKS on tv youseen this type of person regularly, lying and then takin folks cars, that is why they changed the format of the show. Lying and cheatinf go hand in hand. And anyone who tells you that they are gonna get another 50HP out of just a tune on a stock vette,,,,I aint buyin that .

 

Lots of C5 Z06's can dyno 390 rwhp with just long tubes, an intake and tune.

 

 

My grandfathers 04 z06 put up 396 on a mustang dyno with lg longtubes, catted cat back exhaust,cai, stock ls6 intake and a callaway(I think) throttle body. It was on a mail order tune too. Its a 6 speed with 6k miles. I was pretty surprised but he wasn't. He said thats about average. From what I've seen 400rwhp bolt on only is definitely realistic.

 

OP, I would think it's more possible like said above the guy might have a stealthy cam and ported stock heads. That's the only he would be close to hanging with a new z06. Even with 400rwhp wouldn't think he could run with a stock one. Just IMO.

And yes a C5 Z06 can hit 400rwhp on bolt-ons and a tune. Remember, no two dynos are the same, and if it's a cold night at sea level, and it's a strong LS6, it can happen. C5 Z06's typically dyno 340-355rwhp stock anyway on a dynojet.

 

I can't vouch for any horsepower claims, but my buddys bone stock 03 Zo6 stayed right beside me with my last turd of a combo when I made 383/375rwhp and ran low 12's @ 115. I'd pull less than a foot in each gear. Needless to say I was a little irritated. When they're driven hard, they're faster than they should be. He threw on an S-trim at 10psi and made 520 rwhp. It's back to stock now and he's finally my bitch with the new combo.

 

I could believe a 50hp Gain on an auto car/truck.

You've just gotta read between the lines, maybe not 50hp PEAK, but 50 down low is very possible. Hell, at 2k, I'd say my 5.3 truck picked up an honest 50hp over the stock tune.

I see what your saying now. F-bodies Have the standard T-56, Z06's have, well Idk how to say it, A race type Built transmission. One way to tell is that F-body skip shifts, the z06 doesn't.

 

Really IMO I'm not surprised, Z06's are lighter than Camaro's and the 33rwhp diffrence didn't mean anything to it.

He beat a ******* 06 Viper w/ Intake, Two Whippled Cobra's. A H/C 02 Z06, And a modded C6!!!!! I want to see this car in person!

I agree with vetteboy... Don't get me wrong c5 z06's are fast cars but this guy is hiding some ****. Looks to me like its on the jug the way it hits so hard from a roll. He absolutely yanks the evo on the hit and that should not happen(if it's truly exhaust/intake only)!!
