This guy on another forum is predicting that his 03 Z06 has only intake, full exhaust, and a tune and is making 400rwhp. Is that possible?! He's been posting up video's of him beating some other 2.3 Cobra's, vipers, newer body style vettes with Same mods and he has been Smoking all of them. He also kept up with a 00 Camaro with LS6 H/C/I. I think that he has alot more mods than listed.

I think there is a similar car in the dyno section with those mods putting out that power. People were questioning it too.

 

I can believe 400 on a bolt on tuned z06... Now I dunno about beating a viper with those mods unless he has a killer driver mod but who knows..

Idk, he has a healthy block tho. But I really can't see how you can make 400rwhp on just exhaust and intake. The people he raced all had HORRIBLE driver mods. Thats probably why.

They are rated at 405 flywheel... A few fbodies running cams similar to the ls6 cam on crappy 241 heads are getting close to that 400hp mark with exhaust and tune... So I can see 400 hp on a zo6 with the 243's... Full exhaust, tune, intake, etc especially if he has all the little things that goes with it..

 

Remember a Z06 has the 243 heads and the Z06 cam. It has the 405hp rating instead of the traditional 350. Thats something to factor.

 

it's all in the tune.....there's a shop in east TN that claims they got 400rwhp out of a bolt on ws6.....idk......but yea, i think it would be much easier to get 400rwhp out of an 02-04 Z06 with headers....if he's beating vipers, he might have one of those stock idle cheater cams, etc.

 

I would have to see that 400 out of a bolt on ws6,I know some company sold some generation x kit that would make 400 with bolt ons ,I called and the guy told me like 9 grand and I told him he was nuts,I could see a zo6 putting good numbers,

 

A good tune will get you an est. extra 50 h.p., most full exhaust systems i.e. full tube headers, no cats may give you 20-30 h.p. extra. I suppose it could be possible, even with just a CAI system as his intake gives mabye another 10-20 h.p. all that just added up to an est. 60-80 h.p. over bone stock. Otherwise, he is either spraying or he does have some mild cam work with it.

 

No tune on an all motor bolt-on car is gonna be worth fifty horsepower

M6 can refer to any manual six speed.

yeah, same here....i didn't believe it, i called him and nearly laughed when i heard the price.....maybe they use your stock parts and just port the hell out of everything......idk, i would rather upgrade to aftermarket stuff more power for much less $$$$
