That sounds like your getting REAL lumpy... The main factor would be make sure youve got the baddest Stg 3 bad-dude cylinder heads you can afford to support that cam.

I had a custom XE-R 238/248 done and it seems pretty wild, ill let you know how it dynos...

Medic, I'd say there were two good head choices for that set up, and that was definately one of them. We're doin' something similar with an Ape 408.

These 8 sec 306 Ford hyd roller engines start at 256/270 @ .050" 114+4 and go up from there. That cam you have spec'd is like a entry level cam for a big inch engine with that much N2O. Our N/A 408-422 engines get at least a 240-244 intake lobe, anything with more then 200 shot I would go with a 114 LSA over a 112 LSA. Big compression means not a daily driver, so put a CAM in that thing.

FWIW, our big inch N2O solid roller engines (non LS1) are at 288/302 @ .050", 700 RWHP on motor, 1100 RWHP on the spray.

does having a high compression make it easier to run a bigger cam?

Yes, lots of duration bleeds off low speed cylinder pressure, but if you have high compression to make up for it, then thats the way to go and it makes more sense, if you are running race gas all the time then drivability should not be a concern. When you say "high compression", I assumed you were talking about 13:1+, because the real high compression engines are 15:1+, like the 1100 RWHP car I spoke of. How much RWHP are you trying to make, my little engine would probably make 740 RWHP if I did not blow through the convertor, and thats only a 346, hyd cam, TNT N2O kit, nothing serious at all. A 408 with a good set of heads, fogger, and big hyd roller cam should be able to make 800-900 RWHP on the spray.

well the kit i have on the car now is NOS Pro Race fogger system w/ NOSzels... i have pills up to 300 hp right now... I just need to find out if the HP Limitation on a NOSzel kit is due to the NOSzels or the plastic lines/noids...

then eventually next year sometime it will get a 2nd stage possibly
