Default weird issue, obd II codes..

ok.. so when driving down the highway bringing the car from savannah to d.c. the car drove the trip fine till about 2 hours left after already driving for 5-6 that day. the car started doing a weird thing where it would run fine for 10-15 seconds then start bogging and sputtering for about 30 seconds.. it repeated this the whole rest of the way.. never progressed never got better either. (at some point in this time it threw the service engine soon)

after putting some exhaust on the car and finally getting around to playing with it weeks later i pulled the codes and it was p0352 and p0102.

these are low maf low voltage circuit and ignition coil 2 circuit.

any ideas? what can i do to try and figure out the issue..

I'm guessing something was left disconnected or your o2 sensor wires melted and you have a short that caused the sensor fuse to blow. I'd check the fuse box under the hood first.

aight thanks, that relates to the o2 sensors? i've checked everything i can for any disconnected plugs or sensors and i couldn't find any. i thought i checked the fuses but i'll check again.

my first assumption was o2 sensors.

just checked the fuses and a 20 amp fuse i believe engine sensor or (ENGINE SEN) was blown.. replaced it and it blew right away too. so now to figure out where i am having a short.. would this likely be o2 sensors? or where else could it be grounding out?

Many sensors including the MAF and o2 sensors are on that circuit, but most likely the problem is in wires going to the o2 sensors since that is where you were working. Go under the car and have a look. Follow the wires from the exhaust up to near the motor mounts and hopefully you'll see something sitting against the exhaust or pinched. You're on the right track. Good luck

thanks, nothing is pinched or touching the headers because when the car runs like crap that is the first thing i think of. i DID have my trans plug and rear o2 wires dragging prior to taking the trip so i tucked them and it ran fine for most of the trip. (i have a th400 so the trans plug isn't used). with the rear o2's tuned out could it possibly be there? the only other suspect i have is the wires that run on the passenger side shock tower.

it appears to be fixed.. turns out of the connectors that were dragging for the rear o2 sensors had been completely torn off so the pins were just dangling and touching each other. i taped off all 4 and it runs good for now. i gotta figure out a more permanent solution though.

Nice fix. You probably want to keep those wires dry. Maybe slide a piece of shrink tube over them and shrink it shut and zip tie them up somewhere high. Have fun. I can't wait for the snow to melt up here

haha thanksfully its gone down here in d.c. i just put an exhaust on the car too so i can cruise in comfort (not so much noise but the worry of tickets haha.. it was a dumped y with no mufflers or cats before).

and shrink tube is a good idea, thanks!

so i figured i would bump this instead of a new thread.

everything is running fine, fuse doesn't pop but p0352 stays on, i've cleared it 3 times and it keeps coming back. i figure i have an issue with that coil.. is that cylinder number 2? front passenger side? would that be a ground issue? if so where is the ground for that coil?

its probably a loose wire. check out this thread:

it was a loose pcm connector.. haha somehow only that one coil was affected. i had to torque down the little 7mm bolt that holds it tight and it works like a champ again.
