Default Stock cam LS6...who's pushed the limits...440whp?

Typical path for most people includes cam, of course. In every genre of car I've ever built, there's been that small sector that just said I'm gonna make "x" power or run "x" et with the stock cam, stock turbo, stock block, etc.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has stepped around ditching the stock cam and seen what the power potential of the motor is with massaged/modified intake/heads, etc.

I've always been one of those types, so I'm wondering what's been done thus far? There clearly has to be power in the heads, as well as intake. Maintaining the manners of the stock cam yet pushing C6Z whp would be nice, and I think achievable. Any proof out there?

I'm just getting this "itch" if you will, to see what is possible and feel ENTIRELY stock. No quirks...whatsoever. The tune determines much of this, but fighting a big cam is always the hurdle. I want stock idle, stock "lug in 6th", stock feel....just need big VE...

Can you decipher some of that sig. Not HUGELY familiar with LSx platform and all lingo/aftermarket. I see Kooks (assume headers, exhaust related), GMS (is what?), pullies (some rotating mass and parasitic reduction), LS6 heads and intake?

That's a good power number and is pretty backed up by the et. You familiar with that dyno and know what power numbers a C6Z put down on it? If it's reading typical then your only about 20whp off an LS7...in peak number terms.

Thanks....Kooks headers with 3" offroad y into 3.5" exhaust I made, Granitelli mass air sensor (GMS), underdrive pulleys. It is a ls6 intake that I ported for a bigger throttle body that I made. The engine itself is straight from GM. Has 80,000 miles on it now and has been in the car for almost 9 yrs.
Man I hope a ls7 will make more than 20 more than this. I have a ls7 to put in next. It's made over 400rwhp on 3 different dyno's depending on set-up. 403-407 with the mac headers and 413 with the kooks. It would probably go a little quicker, but I don't leave on it very hard because of the 10 bolt.
