Thanks Gogo, as long as i can get 18-20 on gas, i think ill be ok

I am too, I hope they come out with it. That cam obviously had far better street manors from the way jason described it ... a lower lift from what i hear, and I am assuming a bit more PtV clearance (which makes me feel alittle better) .... all this for the loss of what, 10rwhp??

What do you guys at thunder think about this? I obviously do not have any experience with either of these cams, and you have a bunch of experience with them. I see a huge market of LS1 owners who would love 430+rwhp out of stock heads, on a cam very similar to your description of the v1 cam. The drop in drivability and PtV clearance of the v2 cam might turn some people off.

I for one am 99% ordering the v2 cam, I am just saying their might be a market for a v1-like cam also.

In regards to the V1:

We really had no plans to sell the cam publicly. The whole point of of our testing was to find the cam that made the most power with stock heads and pursue selling that one. The drivability was slightly better with the V1 cam and it did have a "little" less lift. PtV was a little better on the exhaust side too (intake was identical to the V2).

I'll talk with the bosses and get back with everyone soon regarding the V1.

Rest assured, this only the beginning of the new camshafts Thunder Racing will be offering. The V.3 is already in the works.

i am wanting to put this cam in my 98a4
current mods are 3700 stall 3:23 gears, longtubes, cutout and lid.
i know i will need tuning and this is my daily driver is my stall bigenough and my gears low enough? how hard will this be for the average tuner to tune? will i see a huge gain at the track with this over my stock cam. i have stock untouched headsand my car has 80000 miles. thanks

Jason, ya'll need to design me a cam for my 427 . If you can put cams that big in 346s surely a moderately sized one can be put in larger cubed motors

You most definitely will see a gain at the track with this cam. I would, however, recommend a slightly larger stall and more gear. If you don't plan to change those two items, the TR230 would probably be a better choice.

Tuning this cam does take a little bit of time. If you do have someone who is good with LS1edit, it shouldn't be a problem getting it tuned in a few hours.

see i currently have the tr224 114 waiting install i was going to install pp stage 2 at the same time but i figured i could make more power with the t rex. this is my daily driver but i take it to the track and street race often. thanks for the input
will the stock lifters work with the trex and is it in stock. how much for the kit? whats included. and what gears you recomend

I wonder if you could use Rhoadslifters with this cam. They sound like a great idea, but I couldn't find any reference to someone actually using them on a LS1.
