I am debating on doing the swap over to the 04 style LS6 valley cover, as I have yet to put on the new FAST 102 setup. I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for, mostly just debates on the PCV system itself.

I am currently running a Metco breather in place of the oil cap, with a deleted PCV system. Is it still worth going to the LS6 valley cover? Or is it a waste of money at this point? I plan on running another breather on the driver side valve cover aswell. I am also going to replace my knock sensors/harness.

 

I would run LS6 cover as well. It worked well on my previous setups. Make sure you use a LS6 PCV valve as well.

 

Do you know the part #?
And would I have to route any tubing to the manifold? Thanks.

Dang thats pricey, Scoggin Dickey wants IIRC $74.99 for the valley cover.

I guess ill try to price it out tomorrow at the Chevy dealer for the rest of the conversion.

thunder racing is showing you the old style cover....the new style does not use a PCV valve on the hose to the intake......get the new style

When I upgraded to the LS6 Valley Cover, I purposely ordered the "Old Style" cover so I could retain an external PCV Valve. I didn't want to have to remove the Intake to replace it, should it ever fail.

Is there any other benefit with the "New Style" cover other than hiding the PCV Valve?

Also, if the O.P. plans to run a Valve Cover Breather, doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of a having a PCV System? With a breather you no longer have a closed system and unmetered air can/will enter it.

 

It looks about 10 million times cleaner too! I got one for free

 

i dont think the internal workings of the new style could/would fail

 

Oh the irony.....the newer style does not actually have a PCV valve. It has a fixed orifice opening, a restrictor if you will. No moving parts, nothing to fail.

One important thing I forgot to ask was, would there be any clearance issues with the FAST 102?

Also as Mumbles stated, would this even benefit any? The PCV system has already been deleted with a breather on the valve cover.

 

you would have to ask someone who has a FAST and a LS6 VC......i am not that rich yet
