legman posted some of the better options but another popular oil pump is the slp ls6 ported oil pump and there are timing chains like the ls2 which work fine and are very cheap.

I have the melling 10296 and love it, I run the rollmaster double roller chain setup, and it was a pita to make fit, alot of guys swear by the ls2 chain setup.

Received my Melling 10295 from TSP. Their site states clearence issues when using a double roller timing chain.

The LS2 chain is a nice budget upgrade plus I "think" it might be the replacement chain being sold now for the LS1. I used one in my last build and it held up fine. 446-399 Y2K C5 LS1.

My current build 04 LS6 will be slightly higher so I decided on the Katech chain for added durability

They revised the housing a while back and Melling says the clear now with no shimming or grinding....

10296 IMO....

I used the ls2 timing chain and ported ls6 oil pump. Worked great 65psi at cold idle 40 at hot.

A ported LS6 or Melling pump would work for you.

As far as a chain, Yank sells the LSA timing chain and sprockets for an LS1 which would make a good budget chain. Or like was already mentioned, for a little more the Katech chain is great from what Ive read on here.
