for now i am gonna keep it to street. with my stock 10 bolt, it would break on the first launch. but once i decide to get a new rear end (S60 once the funds come in) with either 3.73's or 4.10's then i will hopefully be running low 11's or even high 10's on slicks! if i can get my 60' down under 1.5 then i dont see any reason why i can not hit 10's

Hell yea, I'm hoping for high 10's when I get all my parts on mine with the 9" and some slicks. That is until the iron block 370 and F1 with 16# of boost but that won't be for awhile. Bought a house & 120acres of land last year so money is in short supply but I am patient.

trying to get a dyno out here is like asking Texas to be cold in the summer!!! but soon i will get one, but in the meantime, i decided to paint my valve covers and my coils. now let me tell you one thing, i am so glad i did. not only did they come out amazing, it reveled a potential probelm that could have ended my motors life!!!!! one of my rockers gave up on life and another one was loose. oddly they were both on the intake side, even though my exhaust side has higher lift and more duration...

enjoy the pics

here is a picture of the rocker still on there, with the missing cap that holds the needle bearings on

here is the rocker removed, right side

left side, busted side!!!

now good thing i had some spares! i ordered 2 extra rockers when i did my heads and cam, just incase any were bad so i would not be set back any days. good thing i did. all this means that my cam is to bad *** for my rockers, guess it is time to upgrade to some Yella Terra Ultra lights!!!!!

anyway, now to the eye candy. off to the coils and valve covers enjoy!!!

i will add some pics with them on the car after i finish painting the other side. cant wait to see them, always thought the MSD blaster coils looked awesome, now you can get the reliability of the stock ones, and the look of MSD, all for about $8 of material!!!!!!!!!!!

ok here is some more pictures. got the valve covers re-installed and painted, tell me what you think!

comment if you like! still need to clean up the rest of the engine bay, like move the TCS unit and do the wire mod, then it is time to touch up the strut towers, when i remove my shocks to replace them with some new Bilsteins!

Those coils and covers look really good. Match the red lettering of the fast intake well.

Looks like a good build definalty the best phots I'v seen and my far the most use of painters tape. My god son you even used it to hold the power steering pump up and out of the way.

The only question I have - Did you not clean off all of the old head gasket material off?

since the block of these motors are made of aluminum, you can not take a power tool or sand paper to it. all you can do is make it as smooth as possible. yes i removed all the old head gasket, it just leaves a stain from the old graphite, on the stock block. the aftermarket MLS gaskets do not have this issue, the old graphite ones do. but yes i removed it all, i used an ice scraper (plastic one) as to not damage the block surface.

Damn, that looks good. Might have to do this when I put everything on my car. Good save with the rockers that would have really sucked if you hadn't caught it.

440rwhp/400rwtq. the dyno kept cutting off at 5800 for some reason, the car would pull to 6600 but the dyno was having problems reading it. after a 5min cool down, we got on good pull to 6400 and made 440. gonna get the fast intake ported (as i have only taken the roughness out of the runners) and put some better gas in it (as i was using Navy Base gas, which the tunner told me was pinging every time he tried to add timing), and should maybe hit 450!
