Keep cam or upgrade with ported/milled 243/799 heads?

Keep cam or upgrade with ported/milled 243/799 heads?
Long story short, I'm disappointed with my power numbers of around 360rwhp unlocked.
I have a set of 799 that I am getting some professional help porting. Also going to get them milled (not sure how much yet, open to suggestions).
Already have Felpro stock thickness gaskets so I'm going to use those. Ordering ARP head bolts. Ordering Patriot dual .650 lift springs.
I can either save some cash and run what I have and see what it does, or go ahead and go a little deeper. I could pick up a used cam for a deal (something around 23x/23x ~.590-.610lift) or go all out and spend the money for a custom EPS cam.
I really want ~430rwhp and mid 11s @~118+, best so far with my combo has been a 12.24@110 in 1500DA.
I want to keep shifting at 6300rpm to save the poor 98 rod bolts.
I plan to port my 853 heads and sell them with the PAC springs. I could also sell my current cam if I switch.
Opinions?

I've been piecing things together for a while.
Don't know the price for the milling and valve job yet, but the heads will be getting a 3 angle performance VJ. My dad is friends with the guy so I usually get great prices (especially since its a rural area too).
I have enough to purchase all I need for the head swap plus extra, it will just come to whether I want to pocket the cash from my old heads or toss it towards upgrading the cam too. I am really leaning to a custom cam.
I am not sure the cam I have now is going to get me what I want considering my current HP level and low trap speed, but I have some friends who think a cam swap would be $$$/time/effort wasted for little gains over what I have.

Not interested in that at all.
I am also not really interested in sending the heads off. I have the tools and as stated will be getting help from an experienced porter, mostly just going to be doing basic clean up, port around valve bosses, polish chambers/exhaust, and that sort of thing.
I could have bought ported heads in the classifieds for the cost of buying cores and sending them off.

Room yes, but $4k+ I do not have at this time.
Kinda what I'm thinking, even mildly ported 799 heads with some milling should be a nice increase, and a traditional split cam to take advantage of that new flow/ the fast intake should also help over the current cam (or at least I would think)
Mostly I'm just bummed with the low performance in my combination and would like to better optimize it on a budget.

Since your already in this deep you might as well go with a custom. Might be a good thing to have the heads flowed after so you can give those numbers/info to a cam company. I'd say PatrickG because of what I've seen on this forum and personally from a close friends car. Full weight Camaro with his spec'd cam, headers, underdrive pulley, and nothing else, ended up trapping 118-119 and made 423 through a 6-speed.

You'll not get another 60rwhp from just a cam swap. Heads if properly done fully ported could give you ~40>50.
If your goal is to run quicker times, I would first look at more stall.
A traditional split will need to run higher rpm, you'll need rod bolts from Katech.
What is your car's weight? The 230/224 has mid 11s potential if weight is proportional and car does a good 60 foot. While RS cams are not top end cams, they make good midrange trq. Trq is what makes you accelerate faster.
Do you have a track slip? could you post the info?

Well to be clear I am looking at swapping heads AND cam.
To the guy who said rod bolts and spin it higher, my HP peaks at under 6000rpm and I'm shifting at 6300 as is, tried spinning higher and MPH didn't increase.
My last track slip:
DA 1842, race weight within 50lbs of 3700#
60 ft: 1.7776 (approx half throttle for a few feet out then stabbed it, track wouldn't hold WOT launch even on 325/50r15 MT ET streets)
330ft: 5.0621
1/8th: 7.8091
trap: 89.55
1000: 10.2091
trap: 101.81
1/4: 12.2473
trap:110.38
On the dyno it made a measily 345rwhp/325rwtq unlocked, exhaust capped. I will post the dyno sheet Monday, I can scan it at work.
I am happy with the converter since I do daily drive the car. I want more power in general because the car doesn't perform as well as I would like from a roll. Only able to put a car and a half on a stock EVO X on the highway.
I have looked over my engine up and down for reasons why it would make such little power and found nothing, posted several times here on tech with no new ideas.

Reading your original post screams disaster to me. You want to push the envelope on the cam (pushing the duration up) but you say you can't spin the rpm. Thats a bad match-up. You need to spin the rpm that your combo wants if you want to maximize the combo. A 3600 converter is pretty good on that end, although a 4k would be better. My cam is a 228/232 running an SS4k and shifting at 6450 feels oh so good. I could take it higher if I wanted. Maybe you don't so much need a bigger cam, maybe just a better one
