Educate me on building a nitrous motor
-2001 LS1 block
-6.125 Eagle H beam connecting rods with ARP2000 rod bolts
-Wiseco or Diamond piston with steel top ring
-Clevite H bearings
-ARP head stud kit
-AFR 205 66cc heads.
What kind of piston should I get? -2cc? Flat top?
What kind of headgasket would work best for this setup?
Rockers for the heads? Can I keep stock push rods? How about lifters?
Im coming from working with a lot of imports and have come to realize domestic engines are an entirely different ballpark. Id appreciate all the help I could get in terms of what I should be looking at.
What size injectors would be good? It'll just be 93 pump. I had planned on running direct port for the nitrous, or at least I assume with anything over 150 shot direct port is the better choice?

Drivetrain will take a beating with this - I hope you have a 9 inch back there. If you are a 6 speed, you will need a good clutch too.
I used to run a 200 shot on my Gen I with an old all iron 427 BBC. Traction on street tires will be useless.

I have a T56 Im rebuilding right now with all the upgraded parts. The monster clutches looked nice. Very nicely priced for what you get.
For nitrous if you want a 200+ shot then you will probably have to go direct port or some sort of 2 stage. Been awhile since I looked around but there might be 200+ shot plates out there now.
For fuel you will probably want to upgrade injectors to something along the lines of 42 pound injectors. Since your running a wet nitrous kit you dont need injectors to add fuel for the nitrous. For as big of a nitrous shot you want you will probably want a stand alone fuel system and use some sort of high octane/race gas in it.
Do some checking as far as head studs. It seems like I have read stuff from people talking about with the cowl and studs its hard or impossible to get heads off with the engine in the car.
Cant go wrong with AFR heads. Great performers and will make power. Make sure you match the cam with your heads and what you want out of the car/setup. There is nothing wrong with off the shelf cams and to many times people start yelling custom cam. Just make sure the cam you get is good for your setup and wants of the build.
For pistons pick a manufacturer and call them. Tell them what you want and let them spec the pistons. The piston or head company can help you figure out what gasket what you will need.
