Default 243's Question

Looking to get a set of 243's ported. The local porter I called said the last set of 243's he ported flowed 320 IN and 222 EXT at .600. are these normal porting numbers for 243's or is this guy uping his flow numbers a little bit? I've been looking at some other aftermarket heads that don't even flow that much or just a little bit more. Thanks!

Are they hand or CNC ported through the local guy? What does he charge and include in the build? Exhaust appears a bit low.

find out what the intake valve size is,and what cc the intake runners are after he ports them.I mean if he is sticking a 2.05 valve in there and porting them to 240-245cc then sure they will flow that much, but will not perform that great for ya

My personal opinion...I would never trust a hand port unless the guy is extemely proven with your exact brand/model of head. It is way to easy to be inconsistent and gaining great volume does not guarantee great results...velocity matters a whole lot, too.

x 2 on that. $650 is well under what a proven shop charges, & a good deal is not always a good deal especially if they ruin a set of heads by removing too much material if they dont know exactly what theyre doing.
