You'll have to make special provisions for the wear characteristics of Ti. You'll have to run with a coating for them to survive the stock steel guides and hardened seats or you coulld sleeve the guides and run copper/beryllium seats. You will also need a hardened tip for the valve or you'll have to run lash caps. I would recommend running hollow stem Ferrea super alloy as an alternative. You'll have indefinite wear with weights within a few grams of Ti.

Iv heard that seats are only needed on the exhaust side to bring down the heat some.

I would still be worried about excessive wear on the valve with a hardened steel seat. The Ti and BeCu seats really get along much better than uncoated Ti and steel.

Buy the oversize valves and either turn them down or have the seats cut to accept the larger valve.

how hard would it be to cut down 16 valves? what would the labor be for something like that? idk if it's worth all the trouble.

and why the **** can't the aftermarket companies just make 2.00/1.55 hollows? it's not like they don't have a market for them.

Honestly, there isn't much of a market for a 2.00" valve for an LS motor. You can run a 2.02" valve on the stock seats with the proper modifications. As far as I know, you can go all the way up to 2.04" on the stock seats. Anything above that requires new seats.

If you insist on running the 2.00" valve, any competent machine shop can turn them down for you, it is commonly done. We would cut down 2.055" valves to 2.040" for certain applications all the time. I'm assuming since you are interested in lightweight valves, that you are willing to make some modifications and at a minimum have a competition valve job done.

Hope this helps,
Shane

Was looking around on the bronze valve guides and CuBe seats and I think on better of selling them. But I know the LS7 has titanium valves does that have special seats also?

I believe Del West makes the LS7 valves. I am not positive but I believe all Del West manufactured valves are coated. That is the only way to make a Ti valve live when mated to steel. I have an LS7 replacment valve on my desk here and it is coated with a dark grey coating.

Do you think if I coated them it would be a cheaper alternative to the seats which the guides aren't that big a deal as there fairly cheap. At least to run them on the intake side. I just bought a set of intake and exhaust of the Xcedyne titanium valves which I believe come already coated.

The coating should be much cheaper. I would contact Del West to find out if they will coat valves that they do not manufacture.
