Default **UPDATED**PRC 215's-EPS Cam-Super Victor setup on a 346

Ok guys, I have been working on this build for quite a while now and it is finally getting close to becoming a reality. Just wanted to get some thoughts on how it should perform. Everyone that I have talked to about this setup seem to believe it is going to be a strong one. I am going to Straightline Performance with hopes of around 450-475rwhp. I'll be sure to post up both here and in the dyno section once I get the results.

Fresh rebuilt stock bottom end with ARP Rod bolts
SLP Lid
TSP 100mm MAF
Spectre 4" intake ducting
4150 Style 1000cfm Throttle Body
Super Victor EFI Intake
Lucas flowmatched 42# injectors
Walbro 255
PRC 215 Heads w/59cc chambers
Cometic .040 Head gaskets
Chromemoly Hardened Pushrods
EPS Single Plane Cam 236/248 .617/.617 108+4
Trick Flow double roller timing chain
Melling Hi Pressure oil pump
Edelbrock stepped race headers
Edelbrock Off Road Y
Edelbrock Cat Back
Dual 3" cutouts
3600 Stall
RPM Level 5 4l65e
stock 3.42 with T/A Girdle

Specs for the Heads:
-Lift----Intake---Exhaust
.100"----68 cfm---56 cfm
.200"---145 cfm--115 cfm
.300"---214 cfm--167 cfm
.400"---271 cfm--202 cfm
.500"---304 cfm--219 cfm
.600"---318 cfm--238 cfm
.650"---321 cfm--236 cfm

I know 450-475 to the wheels is difficult with an auto, but I have high hopes with the PRC 215's and the EPS Cam. People seem to be getting good results with both so I decided to put them together. Let me know what you think

*****UPDATE******

Dyno went well today, Ended up with a best pull of 441RWHP and 401RWTQ This run was done with the cutouts closed although on an earlier comparison we showed an impressive 18HP gain with the cutouts open, so I would estimate around 460RWHP and 40?RWTQ if the cutout was open on the best run. I'll be heading to Speed Inc for MFBA's Dyno Day and see how my numbers compare on their Dyno, I know they will be higher on the Speed Inc Dyno for the simple fact it's a DynoJet rather than the Mustang I was tuned on.
Dyno Pull

id say your goals are within reason, good luck with the build! Now all you need is the mate to your single prc 215 and your golden.

Well the Dyno day on friday isn't going to happen... my replacement head from TSP arrived damaged by UPS.

TSP is making yet another head for me... this will be head #4. I'm not having the greatest luck considering so far only 1 out of three has been usable.

looking forward to the results...your results will make or break how I feel about the prc's...last couple I have seen have been less than stellar...

with that intake, cam, compression you should break 470rwhp all day...

question why not TFS215

needs way more converter.

looks like a solid setup. i'm curious what it would do at the track with a 5k stall.

How much did you flycut? Seems like a good size cam with a .040 head gasket and 59cc heads.

I ended up cutting .060 out of the pistons figuring that would be plenty for anything I would want to throw at it in the future.

cool thing is that the heads are not milled to 59cc so it's almost like they are stock.

question why not TFS215
Only real reason why I chose the PRC's over TFS is that they were on Sale and this quote taken from TSP's Ad for the 215's: "Now is your chance to own the same cylinder head that currently holds the fastest stock bottom end heads / cam record!"

I got sucked in by good marketing
yeah it might be the same head but not the same ports, that car is tricked out for sure...lots of secrets...I have yet to see a prc 215/227 346 break 500rwhp...good heads just think they are hyped up to much...

I hope you proven me wrong I am rooting for you...got a buddy doing a killer setup too on a 346 with the 227s prc's, fast 102...

I put down some good numbers with my setup so it will be nice to see how they hold up against a victor prc215 setup since we are both a4 and dyno at the same place...

let me know if you need a hand or have any questions...I am right up the street in Plainfield...

oh yeah you have a lane when that car is done...make sure you have a good ram air setup or that is 3mph on the table

Well we were going to dyno at the same place...

I am really wanting to have the car tuned before the MFBA Cordova Spring Rental and that is on May 7th. I talked with Larry over a month ago to setup my appointment for Friday and now I wish I had set it for one more week out. I called and talked with Larry today and he says the soonest they can get it in is on the 23rd of next month! A wait of over a month is just insane! He "says" he will call and let me know if anyone else cancels so that I can take that spot, but he also said they were behind on a shop project so that tells me the chances of getting in earlier are slim to none...

The thing that sucks though is that I already sent in and got a base tune from Speed Inc and it would be nice to get some of that cash knocked off the dyno tune... I'll probably hold out for Speed Inc for a while in hopes that they can get me in sooner

What do you have to cut to get that super vic and your cowl happy. Do you have to lose a wiper?

450 range should be attainable with your setup.

I am curious to see your results. Havent seen much results with the PRC 215 head. I maybe have only seen like 2-3 results in the dyno section. Im hoping TSP would post more stuff on those heads.

I didn't have to lose the wiper but close... I did have to cut quite a bit out of the cowl to get it to fit, along with get a Outlaw WS9 Hood. I'll see if I can dig up the pictures

yeah I would not get in a rush, also cancels happen more than you think...just think someone is taking your spot now on Friday...

You should have to wait for pushrods too...that should be measured and ordered last once the heads are on...
