loud ticking from passenger side after cam..
Got the cam in, got the car running, sounds badass! But I have another problem. Yes I know theres gonna be ticking after but theres a bit of a louder ticking on the passenger side. Goes faster when it's revved up a bit. Oil pressure is where it should be, car is kinda hesitant with the throttle and idle is a little iffy but it idles alright. What do you guys think? Exhaust leak, lifter tick, valve hitting? any ideas? I pulled the passenger valve cover right off to check for a loose rocker arm and that's not the case. Can't really hear it from inside the car but I know it's there so it's sketching me out. Do I take it for a little drive or check some stuff or any ideas?

Let me add too that before the cam swap there was a slight ticking from the passenger side too. Remembering that I think exhaust leak or lifter tick?? I'm sketched out to drive it, just dont want it to be a valve or something and going kaboom

It's coming from the back of the passenger side, either 6 or 8th cylinder...that's right where it was coming from before the swap. Could this just be an exhaust leak or lifter from before that just got louder?

Just took it for a little drive around the block a few times to get it hot and see how it was. It was doing alright until it got up to temp, then it didn't want to idle at all so I pulled it back in, killed it, and popped the hood and there was a little bit of smoke but it dissipated after like a minute. Bad??

Before the start I pushed on all the backs of the rocker arms and nothing gave so I thought all the lifters were good. Could this just be piston slap amplified? There's been a little tick there as long as I've had the car, got noticable with headers and now loud.

if u want tom save urself the trouble pull valve conver and check clearance with a feeler gauge and if that is good it might be a lifter. ls1 are also good for have carbon build up on the pistons that cause a loud tick when carbon is heavy. get a can of BG44K and run it through the fuel system
