Default budget FI 347

Got a couple question,

Would it be better to buy a 347 or build a 347? Working on a budget tho,

If buy what vendors have a nice 347 shortblock at a resonable price?

Gonna be hard to build a short block on 2500 with parts and machine work. It will be cheaper to build your old motor as you don't have to buy a new block and crank. But you could always resell your old stock motor.

Lets just do a rough estimate
Pistons and rings $800
Rods $600+
bearings $150+
gaskets $200
Figure an easy 800-1000 in machine work unless you assemble it yourself

That is already $2750

Not to mention head studs, main studs, cam, oil pump......

I've heard of people using Probe pistons for FI. Many people are running them in the FI forums. Do a search, that's what I would run if I was on a budget. As far as rods you might be able to get away with some Eagle/Scat H-beam rods, nothing fancy.

I called machine shop 250 to hone n wash n polishing crank

I should of told my mod list:
All new gasket about 1500 miles
.650 springs
Ported oil pump
Ls2 chain
Vrx5 cam

I was thinking callies rods, wiseco or diamond -8.6 pistons
Durbond main n cam bearings

I could assemble it myself with a friend
