ls6 cam vs. MTI t1 cam
hey guys. i've got a friend who is willing to trade me his t1 cam for my ls6. is there really any advantage to doing this? will the t1 make power lower? any help will be great. also, niehter cam is in a car right now,so removing it isn't a factor. thanks,
Jordan

The LS6 cam is plug and play. No tuning necessary. It idles like stock (because it is) and makes all of its power (compared to your stock cam) above 4500 rpm.
The T1 will make lots more torque and HP across the entire RPM range; however the T1 will not idle like stock and will require tuning. A T1 is not a plug and play cam. You will need 918 springs and a tune so the T1 will cost you more in the long run...you will also get more power everywhere.

The only advantage you could have keeping the LS6 is if you are planning a S/C. The big split along with the wide LSA makes for a great boost situation where the T1 is the way to go with N/A on the street. I had the T1 and never regreted getting it. The idle relearn along with a bigger hole in the TB with work fine after the car learns the idle. It was easier to sell than the LS6 was too if you're not happy or want to trade up later. It's resale value is 175-200 where the LS6 is a tough sell for 100. Make the trade.
