Default Downsides to running a car too rich?

So I keep getting told by numerious people that my car stinks and it's probably running too rich..what are the downfalls if this is indeed true? Is there anything I should be worried about? Mods are as follows..

Fast 92
TV2
Full bolt on
M6
43K miles
No cats

Any info is much appreciated

Its gonna stink without cats but that doesn't mean its running rich. Aside from maybe puffing some smoke and fouling out plugs running rich shouldn't hurt anything too much except overall performance.

I assume your car has been tuned by a competent tuner? If so, it shouldn't be running too rich.

#1 loss of power
#2 loss of fuel economy
#3 if it is rich enough it could wash out the rings.

do you have a tune? if not, get one.
the car could just stink because of the ORY.

If your car has been tuned it probably isn't really running rich, without card and having alittle cam overlap will give you s slight fuel smell out of the exhaust

It has been dyno tuned. AFR was at 12.5 and ever since the Fast install, it seems a bit more smelly and I've noticed my gas mileage has gone down slightly. Don't notice any real power loss. Seems to pull pretty good. I might take it back to the tuner and see what he thinks. Thanks guys.

Its already been said, but you can definitely kill an engine running it too rich.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, as a result of washing down the cylinder walls, excessive fuel gets into your oil...
Lets just put it this way, fuel sucks as a lubricant, and you can easily toast a bearing in the engine.

As stated above, also a bad idea if your running Cat. converters. Then again, it's definately better than running to lean.

That's why the car stinks. Many Vette owners have found the same. The cats don't lose much performance but eliminate the foul smell.

Yup, no cats will cause the exhaust to smell. One thing I haven't seen mentioned though is that generally the smell is pretty similar when the car is running rich as to when it is running lean. So maybe the addition of the fast may have leaned the car out somewhat.
