Default what else do i need with the ls6 heads.

i know i need the ls6 oil pump and i got an ls2 timing chain (i got my car tuned today and the guy who tuned it had a set of ls6 heads so i brought them) he said the ls2 timing chain is better to use since its stronger, and i also wanna upgrade the rocker arms but not sure what to get, i was looking at these ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G6980/ ) and can i reuse my ls1 springs? they didnt come with them and also do i need to upgrade lifters?

http://www.youtube.com/user/notsodar.../0/iAplh7nhyA0

my tuning i got today 367hp 366 torque

get new springs and dont worry too much about the rockers right now. any sort of aftermarket cam is going to be much better served with stronger springs, also a way to protect that investment. check TSP's spring sets. Ive have been running their old design dual spring and titanium retainer kit for much longer than people said i should have been able to. some sort of aftermarket spring should be considered mandatory with a cam.

As for lifters, its a good idea, but not a necessity. The thing about them is that your old ones have some miles on them, and you have to remove heads to get them in and out. so while the heads are off, its probably a good idea. LS7 lifters are fairly cheap. once again, call TSP.

I only have 18K miles on my car and I changed to LS7 lifters and LS2 lifter treys since the heads were off. I'm sure I would have been fine but removing the heads wasn't something I wanted to do again anytime soon.

I stuck with my stock rockers but would have gone Yella Terra if I upgraded.

no, you can just loosen the pan and have enough play. ls1howto.com has a complete walkthrough

Shorter than what? I'm running LS7 lifters, my heads are milled 20 thousands and I'm using 7.35 pushrods. I'd buy a PR checker for $20 to be sure though.

You have to run hardened pushrods anyway or you'll bend the stock one's.

You should measure to make sure of the length. If these are LS6 heads with the light valves, don't go crazy on valve spring stiffness. As suggested earlier, PAC 1218's would be a good choice. I would stick with stock rockers but upgrade the trunnion. Other option if the car has a lot of miles is new stock rockers, GM corrected the bearing issue several years ago.

Also if they are Z06 heads, not just 243 heads but actual Z06 heads with lightweight valves the valves are longer than normal so you will need to get the right size pushrod's for those vavles.

They are .030" longer
