I rented the Spring Tool at Autozone, it was 26 bucks and you get it back when you return it.

Looks like this

Its slow, but its cheap and it works.

Do not, under any circumstances, use this tool on aftermarket valve springs. It will scratch the springs and lead to premature failure. Only use the type that presses on the valve spring retainer, which with the heads off, can also be rented from Autozone.

I used that tool on many different valve spring installs and have been completely fine.

I recently changed my cam and I as well used TIM'S TOOL very reliable and a good price. Look for it under the search he can also sell you the tools and spark plug fitting to keep the valves up if the heads are still on the car all for about $60.00-$70.00 bucks not a bad price for both.

I am borrowing a Comp Cams tool right now and it is SUPER nice. Does both an intake and exhaust at once so saves some time too...

I would go with any of the valve spring tools that do two springs at once.

Haven't seen that one before ... that's a nice design because you can remove the springs from just one cylinder if you had to without disturbing any of the other rocker arms on the head. It sits down on the rocker trunion stand.
