Or you running the 1/8 mile more? Checking spring pressure as requested on certain camshafts should be done. If anyone wants a agressive cam they need to follow the needed maintenance or suffer the consequences.
I have no problem doing required maintenance, sometimes it's enjoyable. The closest 1/4 mile track around here is 2 hours away, it will see only 1/8th mile.. 243 heads, ls6 intake, prc dual springs, chromoly 7.4 pushrods, melling 10295 (I think) oil pump, ms3, ls2 timing chain, Fast Track Performance tune.. I think the setup would work, but like I said I'm wide open to suggestions.

I ran the MS3 for a long time with PRC 2.5 LS6 heads and LS6 intake duals etc.etc. But had a crappy tune and not the right tire. But with those two bad things in horrible air ( Midland/Odessa TX) on a 17 inch drag radial I could do 7.9 in the 1/8. a better tune and a better tire less weight it would have been a lot faster. I have a M6 and 4:10s. The track altitude out there is pretty high considering its in the desert. In San Antonio Raceway I was up to a full second quicker depending on temp. I have pistons with a -4cc dish also. I was going to swap it out for a slighly larger cam(Vidicator 240/244) but had to put car as a daily and swapping in a 226/234 EPS cam. For many reasons. The MS3 is suited for racing and I rarely am ever up there in its range now. The last time I ran it I destroyed my trans before completeing the 1/4. Was doing 125 when transmission went and had about 200ft left to cross the finish. Im also running about 11.3- compression. Before changing cams I am going to have a better tune done to it cause I want to see what it will really do In the 1/4. I have TF 220 heads on it now and a ported fast 92/92 ARH 1 7/8 headers. ORY into a GMMG exhaust now from dual one chambers.

LOL. No it does not. not in a 346 anyway. With todays technology compared to 20 years ago we do have more offered than a few different types of grinds. But for a off the shelf cam and going into an auto. he could be very consistant at his track. SInce your wanting N2O also lurk in that section to see who is running what with what kind of results.

With heavy f-body's that are primarily daily driven, yes, the ms3 is a little torque deficient. However, in a corvette that is a lot lighter with an M6, it is a very good cam. Also, if you have an f-body & mostly drag race it, the power band from 4,000-6,500rpm is perfect since your rpm will never drop below that point between shifts. Furthermore if you are running n2o, that will more than make up for any lack of torque. I'm a drag racer, so I like top end cam's. You really need to decide the primary use for your car & choose the right cam for your goals. I personally went with the tsunami over the ms3.

Absolutely. Of course aftermarket heads will make better power, but you'll still make great power with stock heads. PM replied.
