Default Squeaking noise

Hey guys, I just recently finished my s10 swap and now the engine is making a squeaking noise. It is a 2007 4.8 LR4 from a chevy express. It was running fine, the squeak started after I did a 1st-3rd wot pull. The engine still runs great, has around 55psi of oil pressure at idle. It just now has this constant squeak. Maybe you guys can help me out. I am really hoping it is not a bearing.

So far I have removed the belt with no change with the sound. Gonna try to get my hands on a stethoscope tomorrow and see what I can find. Here are a couple vids of the sound.

Really does sound like a belt or a pulley squeak, alternator bearing etc.

Well it kinda sounds like my LS1 did with a bad cam lobe, not as loud, but all the time and yes with the belt off.

You can see in the second video I have the belt removed. I am thinking it is something in the valvetrain. Think I'm just gonna pull the heads and see what I find.

Then Fat T, I would say it's time for a cam and lifters. My oil pressure was great too-pulled the motor and had #1,7 intake and #7 and 8 exhaust lobes pitted and lifters worn flat. Motor had 165k and lots of kills on it though.

Last time I heard that noise it was a rod bearing spun. Somebody else's engine, not mine. He ran (insert popular synthetic oil brand here) 5W-30 on a road course event in the middle of Summer, no oil cooler, 40 minute sessions on a nearly 2 mile course.

By the 3rd session it had that squeal, we drained the oil in the pit garage and it was full of bearing glitter.

Good luck dude.

Well the cam is a low mileage 02+ Ls6 cam that I just installed. The lifters are stock with 120k miles on them. Everything was working great until that 1st-3rd pull. I ended up pulling the motor out tonight, easier to work on it with it on an engine stand. I am gonna tear into it tomorrow after work and see what I find.

Wow, I really hope this isn't the case lol. I drained the oil and didn't see any shavings. I will cut open the filter just to be sure.

Well you were close! The cam is still intact, but one of the lifters is badly pitted.

I wouldn't run that old cam and new lifters, they really should be changed as a set with so much damage done to your lifter. See quote below..

Yea I didn't want to risk it. I ended up getting another used ls6 cam and new ls7 lifters. Also threw in an ls6 timing chain while I was at it. Should have it running tonight.
