Default LQ4 build

I have a stock LQ4 and im planning on putting it into my 75 vette. My goal is about 500 rwhp once I am done. I have read that LS6 or LS2 heads with the cathedral ports are some of the best I can get for the price. Was also wondering if I could get to my goal with an LS6 cam or should I go bigger???? I would like it to have some pretty good street manors and still get it at the track ...

Any advice, or opinions are appreciated!

Thanks Guys

Is this gonna be NA?

Your not going to get 500 rwhp with the setup your asking about.

If you want to stay NA you're going to need a bigger cam and some heads that flow better than stock 243s.

What would be the different power gain between those heads and LS6 or LS2 heads?

500 rwhp will not be cheap. there is a 500 rwhp recipe from pat g you might want to look up. good info if you got the money to put into it. what are your goals besides making it fast? daily drive, weekend car, street/strip, etc. 12 second, 11 second, 10 second car? once you know exactly what you want and depending on your budget, then one can from there in better assisting you. feel free to pm me with any questions. still learning and always learning but can try to lead you in good direction. good luck.

A 346ci with 500rwhp N/A is not exactly going to be a turnkey driver friendly go anywhere and everywhere car.

i'm with low2001gmc on this one...500rwhp is not cheap, and to make it have good manners n/a is even more expensive. tell us more about your goals with this vehicle and the kind of usage it will get, then the forum can better direct you.

I was looking into making it a daily driver. I probably wont take it to the track that much. I wouldnt mind doing forced induction on my car. Money isnt too much of a factor since im building this over time. Im going to have a viper spec t56 or something along those lines and 373 gears. what would be the easiest way to get 500rwhp?

FI will be the easiest and you would retain the practically stock every day drivability.

a good blower cam/blower, you keep the mild street manners down low, and get all the extra hp you need at the whims of your right foot!

try over at the "forced induction" board of the website, you should be able to find all you need....
