Default 6 liter iron block

What is the max safe bore size for the iron block for big power. .030? .060?

First: quantify "big power." Second: Forced Induction, nitrous, or all motor? If you're thinking upwards of 700hp, I would stick to .030 and under. Also, having the block sonic tested for casting flaws, voids, or weak spots isn't a bad idea either... It could save you a lot of money in the long run.

Talk to the guys at AP Engineering------>
They will let you know what is safe for your application. It all depends on what you want to do with the motor as 99SS stated.

Mine was 4.060 but I was told that most blocks have too much core shift but this one was very good.

4.030 to 4.040 for big spray usage or other Forced Induction or best reliablity and leaving room for prior rebuilds, etc. 4.060 is the max for N/A and 100 shot to play it safe BUT YOU MUST GET IT SONICE TESTED as many of the new blocks are to thin where it counts for the .060!

Yes, a 4.030" bore and 4" stroke equal 408.1 cubic inches.

That should be a pretty interesting setup, did you have the block sonic tested for that big bore?
