It's really not black magic. It sounds to me like Jason hit the nail on the head, or got pretty close just by makeing an educated guess, how hard was that? It could be some diabolical plot that requiered countless hours of phone time calling cam grinders and offering bribes to get the numbers he stated to you, or it could be just a good educated guess made by a man that has a real good understanding of how a LS1 engine works.I would be inclined to think it was the latter of the two.

My point is what is there to worry about?
Why not just post the specs to begin with? Every other vendor out there posts specs and they have no problems with others copycatting. Why would LG be any different?

Lou, you'd better get your facts straight before you begin insinuating others being the root of your supposed leak. Whitney R is a good buddy of mine. He was building a new H/C package and was torn b/w the TR 224 and G5. He bought both, had the G5 cam doctored because YOU would NOT tell him the friggin' base circle of the cam nor anything else. He'd already been highly screwed by another "tuner" in the past and didn't want it to happen again. Hence he took his OWN cam that he bought with his OWN money and used his OWN money to find out what the specs were on a cam he was sticking into HIS motor that he PAID for.

Jason told Whitney that they had already cam doctored a G5 before. Besides, TErry Burger posted you're "elusive" specs 6 months before Whitney ever considered a cam change. The way you have treated Whitney now and in the past is totally unethical and shows your "true" character. You can feed all the bs you want. Your racing heritage plug is a huge bunch of BS.

This is how you always act. You FIRST lash out your feared competitors and customers then you dwell on your wrong doings and try to crawl back to them. I have seen you do it first hand.

I'm glad Whitney put the TR cam in his car. It's a better cam anyway. You need to hire a new cam designer or just work for TR and be one of the top dogs.

LGM, I'll never buy a single product from you, ever. I'll also never entertain any post you make again regardless of it's grandeur and "racing heritage".

Question: Has a vendor ever copied another vendors cam?

answer: The thunder/MTI/slowtek cams are all almost the same. Monkey see, monkey do.

LG

Sean, you have been a good boy lately. And who are these people going to copy?....... YOU???

cam copying started w/ the B1 & T1 cams that came out of MTI. thunder was the largest offender of selling this cam (that they didnt design). i have nothing against thunder, but if they in fact did what Lou says about trying to get the specs, i'll NEVER purchase another product from them no matter how bad or fast i need it. and i'll never suggest one of there cams to another person who is looking for guidance from me about what cam specs to go w/. Lou has alot of work and R&D in these 2 cams, why do you think he would be happy about it getting copied? will any nascar team tell you what cam specs they run for each track? hell no. same for NHRA pro class's. Lou doesnt thing he's smarter than all the other shops, but i believe he works MUCH harder than them. does LG sell BMR, Sphon, Hotchis, suspention parts? no he builds his own! all these other shops buy stuff and rebadge it as there own (primaraly BMR stuff).
like i said, buy it from who builds it. theres a reason it may cost more form one than the other. one may have worked for it, no asked for it.

Levi,

You know how low Whitney's hp is with the package that he has on his car, and you say that you are going to continue on course.

You know what they say, "if you do the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome, then that is the definition of insanity".

I almost laughed when Whitney asked for a refund after he got talked into his tr cam. What you are saying is that the end justifies the means.

It is just not my style to follow the crowd. You will NEVER see a reverse split cam from LGM, and you will now probably see the new TR normal split cam from thunder coming soon to a store near you.

I have a new line of cams coming out that I will release the specs on very shortly. I'm sure when they are released you will discredit them as some one else's specs (probably your own) and we will continue on about our merry little way, such is life. I just thought I would interject a little reason into a thread filled with so much speculation. BTW, 50 cams to recoupe your investment? You must have missed the mark quite a few times to have to sell that many cams to make your money back, I guess some folks start off a little closer to perfection than others.

I have only met Lou one time, but I have seen many of his posts. Between here, Corvette forum, LS1, and the crappy e-mails he has sent to my brother accusing him of stupid **** as well, "Dyno Tricks" I think was the term I read in those e-mails. Im not one bit impressed with your ability to handle yourself in a Public Forum at all. Your accusations not only make you look childish but also like an a$$

I have met your son, great kid.....let him handle this stuff for you. Just my .02
