Default Interesting Cam specs. What do the folks in the know think?

This is a Comp custom roller.

223/227, .637/.640, 114 lobe sep to be installed at 112 ICL.

It's going to need good springs.

Unusual specs or reasonably normal?

This came with AFR 205 heads that don't seem to have the correct springs. Cam is new in the box.

Thanks,

Ron

It's a shorter duration torque cam with alot of lift meaning the lobe flanks are
on the aggressive side. You'ld probably want to run a dual valvespring with
about 150 lbs. seat and near 400 open pressure. You could easily make 400
rear wheel HP with it and those AFR 205s. It would have excellant street
manners and could be tuned to idle almost stock (sleeper)

Most likely LSK lobes. I wouldnt run those, there are many many other newer lobes that are easier on valvetrain.

Get a custom cam with lsl lobes, 223/227

What are your power goals? I have some 205s with the AFR 224/228 and love it.. It makes great power all over.

Interesting combination....kinda like it.

What was the plan behind those choices?

I think the LSK lobes place the valve back down as the LSL lobes do. Non the less lots of lift....some good springs needed.

Thanks Guys.

I'm more of a big inch, well 498 is actually small now, big block guy. The LS is new to me.

The lobes are 2126R and 2127R. I couldn't find them in the online master lobe list. I understand they will be fast.

So, the combo. FAST 102 LSXr intake with 90mm TB, long tube headers of course, X-pipe, A4 with Yank 3600 and 3.42 gears.
Car is the Vette in my .sig.

The goal is mid/low 11's. It will end up where it ends up, you know? I'd rather it not hover around the rollbar rule.

Heads and cam came from the forum ads as a set. I'm not upset or anything, just sorting through it all.

I like the idea of a sleeper mellow idle.

BTW, AFR 8019 springs fit the bill mentioned above. I need to remove and measure the springs on the heads.

Yeah, somewhat similar:
224/228 .637/.639 110LSA 110ICL... which I think were the same lobes but they ended up being 224/228 when they were measured. The LSA difference (as well as the small difference in ICL) will make it a bit different than this one though.

The cam in the OP has LSK lobes that were identified by number in a post above.

Hi all,

Thought I would resurrect this as I'm about the stab this bad boy in the engine to degree and all that.

223/227, .637/.640, 114 lobe sep to be installed at 112 ICL. LSK lobes (Thanks CTD)

So, given that replacing the cam is far from trivial, is this the correct choice for a 3.42 geared, 3600 Yank stalled 3400lb Vette to hit 11 flat?

The rest of the combo is above.

Ron
