Installed Valve Stem Height Gents
I got my 243s at the machine shop getting my heads milled and valve job and the machinist has asked me to find out the installed Valve stem height. From what he found in the books was my exhaust valves are abit too tall and to ensure that the non-adjustable stock rockers have the correct valve lash he may need to deck the exhaust valve stems.
This is not the same as installed valve-spring height
Does any one have any info on the correct exhaust valve stem height?

Is 2.00 for the exhaust or the intake? My intake stem height appear to be spot on, so that is why IM verifying the exhaust side.
I would think you would want your stem heights the same height thus the pushrods are cut the same length.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the stems case hardened which means if he grinds the stems he will break through the case hardening and you will have very accelerated valve stem wear.

Stem Height for Trick Flow 215CNC Just FYI...
Rebuilding a set of Trick Flow 215CNC heads, and the pad-to-stem tip height was all over the place prior to starting the valve job. Called Trick Flow and they gave me a range of 2.035" to 2.045" for pad-to-stem tip. Obviously the pushrod needs to be figured to get the right strike-point for rocker to stem, and in this case we found a 7.525" pushrod give a nice setup.
Also, for you machinist doing valve jobs... the top-cut angle for these heads is 37 degrees, not 35. We coudn't find a cutter for this from either Goodson or Winona Van Norman, so had to go back to the trusty stone grinder. If anyone has a source for a good 60-45-37 CBN cutter (other than having one made custom), please advise. Thanks!
