Default building a pretty stout ls1 nitrous motor.

im trying to build me a pretty good stout ls1 motor for my truck, i plan on hitting with with 250-300 shots...

i just picked up a set of 243 heads that i will be sending to texas speed to get ported within the next few weeks,

i know the rods are good for 800+ horse, so i can on using some arp rod bolts, then get the rods spec'd and machines if need be.

i wanna run alot of compression, and want to go with domed pistons, which pistons should i go for? i dont really wanna bore the motor unless i really have to and then i would only want to go 0.010 over. nothing crazy..

and for the cam ! what cam should i look into ?

if there anything i said that is wrong, please correct me, im open to learn !

If you can, I'd mill the heads a little more, or even have the chambers welded up to get your desired compression, and go with a flat top, or even better a small dish instead of domed pistons.....that way you can keep most of the pressure forces towards the center of the piston instead of out near the thin ring lands.

I wouldn't say those statements go well together if you are going to spray a 300 shot. You've got to pay to play.

That's very true. I don't mind paying. But I just don't wanna buy a custom set of pistons that no one else can buy lol. I want something good and reliable.

Id also spend the money on a good set of H beam rods......do you nerd them? Maybe not, but its cheaper to buy them not, than to buy them, AND a block after a stock rod twists into an S, and spits peices out the side of the block and bottom of the pan (ask me how I know) lol

nothing is out of the ruling just yet, im trying to figure out what im doing. what are good rods/pistons.

and ive searched around a little bit and have came up with a t-rex cam for nitrous, but i think it might be overkill on a stock cube ls1? but i heard it works freaking awesome with spray !

I went Mahle H beam rods too......as for cam, you will want something with around a 114-116 lsa to trap more pressure.....just for example, I first went with a 220/224 112 lsa....it was too small for my taste, then went with a 238/242 112lsa in my stock cube motor and I liked it, but most would probably say it was too big for stock cube.

Look at something around a 228-232 duration, and stay at or under .600 lift to add life to your springs, and for spray I'd shoot for around 116 lsa......this is just MY opinion, I'm sure others will have different opinions, but be close to mine

I highly recommend calling Diamond Pistons to get you squarred away with Pistons. Their customer service is perfect and their pistons are like jewelry. They will treat you right.
