Small hole at edge of sleeve

I am rebuilding a 348 that i bought with new rods and a different crank. I just noticed this small hole near the sleeve. Is it safe to run this block? It will be boosted looking for 850rwhp. It looks like the previous head gasket didnt have an issue with it. I think he was making 600ish

If it was mine I would fill it in with JB weld or Devcon and draw file level

looks like casting porosity to me...I'd have it looked over by a machine shop.

It should seal fine. you can do the JB Weld trick like mentioned above. I had a pretty good nick in mine and I've had no problems 10K miles later.

I am being told that the head gasket seals on the fire ring/sleeve so it will be fine to just run it.

I've had a similar issue before. I would fill it with original JB weld and use a proper bore head gasket. Should be fine.

I think it would be fine. was there heads on it when you got it? If so any signs of exhaust on the deck?
